Teach To Dance
"Will you turn that music off? You have been playing that same song over, and over, for the last half hour"
"I chose that because I was thinking we could make it our song"
"Our song, I don't even like it"
"It's not your song; it's our song Molly's and mine"
Obviously, I couldn't teach Molly to tap dance, at least not properly, but she was good at disco. When I was teaching her to walk and push a pram, she would often jump when she was on her hind legs until she perfected walking, so why not teach her to dance. At first, I just held her paws and shuffled round the room the way I normally did with Georgie when we were dancing, but now I got the Opportunity to lead, the only difference was, Molly could dance. The next step was to have her dance to disco and she was keen to do this, as once again she received those tit bits she enjoys so much.
Once again you have introduced your dog's normal instinct of jumping into an amusing event, and soon these very same actions will be turned into various tricks such as pushing a pram and walking on its hind legs, and as you continue to practice you can have it pushing or pulling a child's go cart.
